This is a typical fireplace cleaning setup. Notice the tarp on the floor for the protection of it. Another tarp across the face of the fireplace with a small opening in it to work through. With a heavy-duty vacuum running, it creates a negative pressure in the firebox. With this setup, no matter how dirty the flue, the fireplace can be cleaned with no dust in the house.

We do chimney cleaning, caps, dampers and fireplace repairs. The same as most any other chimney sweep company. We feel that the difference is in how we do our work. I have been certified and around for a while, 37 years in Decatur, and know what I am looking at. Just as important is that we do not upsell or suggest work that we feel is not needed. Can’t say enough good things about these guys, prompt and affordable and honest. Not trying to upsell like Madhatter who charged us a $550 call out fee and then told us our chimneys needed $25k worth of work. Fabian was very friendly and told me that his honest opinion was that the chimney was in great shape and did not even need a sweep. Since it did not need the sweep that was included in our package, he very kindly offered to replace the chimney cap that has been missing since we bought the house. Very pleased with Mr Richardson”s service and will definitely use them again. .We were happy to find ‘A Certified Chimney Sweep’. Mr. Richardson was reliable, honest, reasonably priced and local. Honesty honestly still exists! Larry and Lorenzo arrived right on time; no sitting around until early evening; saved me an entire day’s worth of work/income. Better still, turns out the other reviews are spot on. I have avoided having my chimney swept for several years. I didn’t use it that much…that was my excuse. Not a good excuse, as anyone who’s had a chimney fire will attest. The REAL reason I didn’t get my chimney swept for many years was, frankly, because I didn’t trust anybody to do a good, honest job. I’d heard too many stories of other companies that up-charged or flat-out said something (expensive) was wrong. . Spent a couple of hours researching companies, and A Certified Chimney Sweep came out on top. They’re here right now. Larry took a look and said (drumroll, please) it just needs basic cleaning. Structurally sound and no problems to worry about! I am just so grateful to have found a company I can trust. Couldn’t be happier.
